I retired my G21 to the vault because the grip "grew" on
me! Actually my old arthritic fingers got to the point that they got
smaller and I could not properly grip the G21 for my trigger finger
to be where I like it to be.
I shipped it off to SWSA and had the full grip
reduction done. Stippling on the front and backstrap of the grip. Extended Slide and Magazine releases installed while out there. Had the Level III trigger work done also and rounded & smoothed
trigger guard.
Got it back yesterday, Tues. 6/27/06 and turn around time was very
reasonable!
Do I like it? Supercalafragilastic Man!! Its a completely different
weapon and I am MORE than 100% satisfied. Might I say
"Thrilled"!!!
It now fits my old hands again and that "stippling" beats the
factory cut checks many times over!! Hard to describe but
Incredibly Good!
The Level III trigger is SUPER! Its smooth as silk and from start
to let off there is NO stiff points of which I'm used to with
Glocks.
I love the Glocks and figured that I'd just get used to the factory
trigger since I liked everything else so much and after a few
hundred rounds I did. Cope tells me the Level IV trigger is even smoother BUT, its
NOT for carry use and they stress that on their web site.
The ole 1911 is now ready to be once again stored in the vault as
the G21 will be my constant companion when I leave home!
I just cannot say to much GOOD about what has been done for my
Glock and if you have any model Glock and would like to make it
even better, take a look at what they have to offer for
customization.
Love it, Love it, Love it !!!!! |

Cope is the man! For a long time I have owned a Glock 20. I love
the 10mm round and loved the pistol, but man the grip was just to
big for me. I really considered selling it, then I started shopping
around for grip reductions. Well most that I found were shall I say
"outrageously" priced. That was until I found SWSA
and had a chance to talk to Cope. This guy and his wife for that
matter (sorry I can't remember your name) are some super people.
Cope called me personally on several occasions, listened to my
concerns and what I was requesting. Took my pistol and for a
nominal fee turned it into hands down my favorite gun. The Glock is
a super pistol, Cope just made it Super+P+. The grip is now just
like my G35 and actually feels more comfortable than my G35. I told
Cope I was going to suggest him to all my "small handed, Glock
owning" friends. I have also started looking for a G21 now that I
know I have Cope waiting in the wings, before I just wouldn't have
pursued one. Oh and when you get Cope to do a reduction for you
make sure you request the Stipling. It is awesome and makes there
no need for any artifical gripping surface applications. I am not
sure of the process, but man it is sweet and the grip is superb!!!
Hat's off to Cope, he is the MAN! |

Got the Glock and it is awesome. The grip work is absolutely superb!!!! The added friction,
especially that I had you keep the finger grooves, is 10x what the
stock grip had. Thanks for kicking butt on Glock work! I forgot to actually report on the functionality. Took the gun
shooting this Saturday. Every single one of the modifications were
a great improvement to the Glock. The forward cocking grooves help
a ton. I almost didn't get those done because of the cost. THANKS,
for talking me into the slide grooves! The mag and slide releases
also felt much more natural in my hand. Not only does the stippling
look great, but the absolutely give a more positive grip when
handling the gun in any way, be it holstering, drawing or
shooting.
If any of you are thinking of getting any of these sorts of mods to
your Glock, I highly recommend Desertscout. Oh, and turnaround was
also very quick. |

I began exchanging
emails and phone calls with Cope about performing some
modifications to my newly acquired 3rd gen g19. I was not looking
to get into Glocks. I am a 1911 man thru and thru. But....something
about that very basic pistol intrigued me. What I discovered was
"it don't fit". Cope graciously accepted the challenge of working
over my Glock in an effort to make it at least useful. I sent it
off a couple of weeks ago and received it back yesterday
and spent the day at the range with it today. Let me tell you, I could not be happier with Cope's work. The gun
felt like it was made for me. I find that really amazing in that
Cope never saw me hold the gun, so his work was performed based on
calls and emails. I will attempt to list the work done, and if I
miss anything, I hope Cope will get online and clarify my
omissions. First and foremost, the rear of the grip was greatly
reduced in an effort to mimic a flat mainspring housing (such as a
1911). The goofy front strap finger grooves went bye bye, as well
as the hook at the front of the trigger guard. The middle knuckle
of my 'traffic finger' of my dominant hand was being rubbed by the
trigger guard. Cope reduced and somehow 'slicked' the surface
around that contact point. He also cut a relief in the bottom of
the mag well front strap and area where the trigger finger
rests along the frame has been ever so slightly relieved and sorta
channels the trigger finger into the guard. The thing about this
feature is that it kinda lets you know everything is in the same
place again, for consistant trigger pulls. Finally ( I think), the
rear grip area where relieved and the front strap were, well, I
dunno, 'stippled' might be a good word. Whatever it is, its grippy.
You'd hafta see it to know what I mean. But WoW, what a grip. Put
about 400 rounds thru it today, and the sweatier my hands got, the
grippier this gun was. Cope was also very prompt in returning emails and calls, and never
seemed to be too busy to talk about the work and to share his
experience and opinions. In conclusion, if you like the Glock, but it is just short of
'perfection' like it is stock, give Cope Reynolds a call. I can
heartily recommend his Glock grip frame work. Thanks again,
Cope.

Received the GLOCK on Friday. (11/3/06) Gun looks great. Stippling job feels great. Seen
some Robar and other grip reductions that made me cringe. My
first reaction upon seeing my gun was "Wow!" Thanks for the great job, Cope! Will definitely look you up if I upgrade to a higher
caliber. John SJ - Salinas, CA
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi Cope, got my Glock 19 today, (10/4/06) All I can say is wow! I am truly impressed, the work is
excellent. It fits my hand so much better now, I'll never be
able to shoot a stock Glock again. The stipple is genius, I
really like it, "grippy" but not sharp or agressive. Thanks again for the opportunity, if you need help with
anything else please feel free to contact me. I've
posted a review with pics over at GT. Russ M. - Bedford, TX |
Mr. Reynolds; First, my apologies for taking so long to get to this.
It seems crime remains a growth industry and job security levels
are high in law enforcement. We have been extremely busy, but
thought I'd take a moment on a somewhat quiet Sunday evening to
share my thoguths with you. I am very impressed with the work you have done and
must say that it meets every goal I had when I started my
research. I have been trying since 1999 to find a
way to make the Glock 22 more concealable and with your help have
been able to accomplish that goal. The reduction to a Glock 23 frame size has been most
satisfactory. The gun is much easier to conceal while working
in typical attire for working the "street" and noticably less
bulky. Even using outside the waistband holsters the gun
seems to disappear and certainly "prints" less when stretching and
bending. It is not a Seecamp .32 by any means, but then that is not the
role it was meant to fulfill. I do like the "longslide"
effect and have always preferred the slide length of the 22 versus
the 23 and you have given me the best of both worlds. In regards to the grip reduction process I must give you my
thanks for encouraging me to go ahead with that process also.
Even though it was not on my original "wish list" it has been a
welcome addition. Even though I have large hands the feel of
the weapon in my hand seems more natural and secure and I thank you
for a fine job. I have fired close to 1,000 rounds through the gun since
your work. Most has been draw from concealment, but a large
part has also been working from a thigh rig during tactical
training, both with and without an M-3 light attached.
I am completely satisfied, very happy, and thankful to you
for your help. I wish that my position allowed my public endorsement of a
product, but the rules bind my ability to do
so. I will say this Mr. Reynolds, that in
my opinion this is the gun Glock should be building. In both
form and function it is the closest a Glock can come to being
called beautiful. Your work is first rate and your service is
the best. I am so happy that I took the time to research and
locate you, but also to listen to your advice. As I stated, due to agency policy I cannot in my position
endorse a product, but for what it is worth please feel free to use
me as a reference with "NAME WITHHELD BY REQUEST." I highly
recommend you to all who query me about my 'new" gun!
Thank you again! |
Hello Cope, I received the glock and the work you did looks great, can’t wait to try it out. Thank you very much. In the near future I’ll be sending a 23 for the same treatment. I’ll certainly recommend your services for anyone considering similar work. Thanks again, |
Just received the dry fire kit today and put it in my G17. It made it to Canada just fine.
What an improvement over the Glockmeister kit!
Reset is great. 200% improvement over the Glockmeister unit Thanks for your help here
I had a chance to T& E the new Glock
Dry-Practice trigger reset kit made by Southwest Weapons and Security in New
Mexico. I purchased the Glockmeister kit made by Deep 6 several
months back in an effort to capitalize on my dry fire training.
Within 1 day of using the Glockmeister kit, I was ready to chuck
it. It was very “touchy” and not very well made. I was unable to
get consistent reliable performance from the Deep 6 model.
Eventually, it found its way to the parts box. Earlier this moth,
our own GT member, Desertscout, introduced his new and improved/
beefed up trigger-reset kit. I immediately wrangled a kit to
T&E and said I would write review for other GT’ers.
When my kit arrived it looked like the Glockmeister kit to the
untrained eye. Once I looked closer I could tell that this kit was
definitely put together with much more quality than the
Glockmeister kit. It is a simple design but it is built tough.
While I was slapping my forehead in a “Why didn’t I think of
that!?” manner, I dropped it into my 2nd Gen G19 and I do mean,
“dropped.” No fit problem, no issues period. I pressed the trigger
even before I put the slide back on the frame and it went “click”
even better, I did the whole trigger reset procedure of holding the
trigger back in the “fired” position and slowly let off tension
with me trigger finger until the trigger reset with a “click.”
Desertscout’s kit is as close as you are going to get to the real
thing. I compared it to the trigger reset by racking the slide on
my G17 and it is close, not exact but as close as you will get
without resetting the firing pin. I was already impressed. I
replaced the slide and started counting off 100 dry fires. It went
“click” 200 times, once for the trigger press, once for the trigger
reset. Head and shoulders above the Glockmeister kit. The spring
tension at trigger press 100 felt the same as the first press. Even
the “take up” in the 5# connector feels the same as it does on a
stock GLOCK. I used the Glock Dry-Practice trigger reset kit
everyday 20 minutes a day for a week leading up to an 1 day
Intermediate Pistol Class to work on my gun handling skills. My
shooting improved dramatically as we moved through different drills
and I was complemented by the instructor on my grip, trigger reset,
and recoil management for follow up shots. I feel that the reset
kit made this possible. This unit is also safety conscious as
well.
The portion of the trigger bar that depresses the firing pin safety
has been removed so that the gun cannot fire. Not like you will
practice with live ammo in your gun when you dry fire but just in
case, it’s a great safety feature. Another safety feature that has
been added since receiving my test unit is the addition of a red
“divot” to each side of the trigger as a visual cue that the
training unit is installed and the gun will not fire live ammo.
This was done so the shooter will not holster his carry weapon with
the reset unit installed before going about his daily routine. The
instructions provided with the Ross Sporting Goods kit are very
explanatory and safety minded as well.
I really like this kit and definitely recommend the kit to anybody
looking to add a great way to practice trigger reset with his or
her Glock. This kit will also allow the use to work on their grip
and well as sight alignment and sight picture and possibly help
shooters who suffer from a flinch when shooting. |
Hi Cope,
I just wanted to say that I received the glock reset kit. I took it out of the package and took a quick look at it before I installed it. I didn't inspect it closely and I immediately thought that it was going to be like some of the other kits that I have seen or have a trigger that feels like the glock red gun - crappy.
I did two quick presses with the kit and nearly fell out of my seat. Wow!!! I then took it apart and reinspected the kit. I am extremely impressed with your ingenuity.
I use to be a firearms instructor for my department in LA and have already called several current instructors and my former sergeant to tell them about your kit. I hope they contact you and seriously take a look at your kits for either recruit or in-service training in some capacity.
Thanks again for a great product. |
